Wonderful family owned/operated ranch since 1950's. CATTLE RANCHER'S DREAM. 1270 acres offers some of the finest grasses and crops to include Love, Bermuda, Matua, Wheat and Rye. The forage base for the summer is lots of Bermuda, Love and Native grass. There is also a 41 acre hay meadow that produces 2.5 bales per acre.
The 500 acre wheat pasture will support 1 head of yearlings per acre from start to finish. During the fall and winter they will have about 250 or more head of breeding heifers (one per every 2.5 acres). They sell at least 850 head of cattle per year from this ranch. The stocking rate is controlled to keep the pastures in good condition. The ranch is set up on a yearling; heifer; and bull program.
The watering system is a great asset for the ranch. Numerous heavy duty permanent water troughs fed by two miles of underground 2" PVC pipe. The water system is supplied by two separate wells - 190-210' depth with a large submersible pump. The wells provide a large volume of water. Also, five ponds (three large). The ranch is provided with a significient amount of water accessible by each pasture.
Another great asset to the ranch is a set of steel corrals with scales and water troughs. Solid running chutes with catchers and sorting pens. The corrals will accomodate 600 head of yearlings. (The hydraulic chute does not transfer). The corrals are also utilized for the cattle that are herded across the road from a 785 acre tract (for sale). They are all brought to this central location for sorting and shipping. Interior fences, mostly electric. Pockets of dense timber to support the wildlife habitat. There are well maintained gravel roads across the ranch. Two active oil wells on the property. The oil company provides for a portion of the road maintenance. The ranch has an entrance from the back side and a nice entrance off Hwy. 32. This ranch is priced to sell at $1700.00 per acre. |
