Durant has a number of parks, some have walking trails, tennis courts, and one has the city swimming pool. We are home to the Three Valley Museum. We have a number of quality golf courses in the area. A multi sports complex was built a number of years back for the kids. The Choctaw nation headquarters is here along with the Choctaw Casino, Coliseum and Event Center.

LAKES AND RIVERS: Lake Texoma is approx 20 miles to the West of Durant and Calera. This is a 89,000 fresh water man made lake. Red River is just South of Calera, for more fishing and fun. If you are a hunter or just a outdoors person you will love this area. Also, Dallas, Texas is 90 miles South of Calera for your night out on the town.

HOSPITALS: Durant has Southeastern Medical Center. Denison and Sherman, Tx are about 20 miles South of Calera. Denison has Texoma Medical Center and Sherman has Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ. Bonham, Tx is about an hour from Calera and the VA is located there.
