This represents a total of 452,327 acres of land for sale in Oklahoma (accounting for roughly one percent of land in the state). The average price of farms, ranches and other land for sale in Oklahoma was $775,664. There was 2,353 acres of sold land in Oklahoma recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over July 2018 data. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $9.8 million. Le Flore County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Oklahoma covers a diverse landscape that incorporates 12 distinct ecoregions. Hunters and outdoor sportspeople can enjoy some 1.6 million acres of wildlife management areas throughout the state, while anglers get their pick of 35 major lakes covering over a half-million acres. With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Oklahoma. The state has also been ranked among the ten best states for the cost of living by U.S. News & World Report. In terms of its size, Oklahoma is the country's 20th-largest state, covering an area of 69,903 square miles (45 million acres). Of this area, 68,595 square miles (98 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 1,304 square miles is made up of water.
